Recent Updates
Thursday, November 22, 2007
Hello choir. Hope that you felt that the practice today was fruitful. Personally, I thought it was quite a good practice today. But whether each of you have personally given your best, you will have to decide for yourself. I cannot tell you when you have reached your limits. Only you know yourself best.
Anyway, I am here to update you what you need to get ready by the next practice.
SCORES TO BE MEMORIZED:
1. El Barquito (with movements as much as possible)
2. Mighty Wonder
Also, remember to complete your reflection journals and hand it in to your section leaders by Monday. Here are some of the points you can consider reflecting about:
1. What qualities do you think a choir member should possess
2. What can you do as a choir member
3. How can you contribute to the choir
4. What do you see the choir doing in 2008
5. What goal do you expect to achieve from this
6. Your thoughts of being in the choir so far
7. Your reflection for this episode
I expect some standard in your work and I do not want to see reflection journals only one or two sentences long. Do take some time to think about what Ms Seow had said today. In case some of you have forgotten or were not there for whatever reasons, here is a rough summary of what she had said.
1. Your attitude as a choir
2. What we already have (material wise) and the problem with our attitude now
3. The choir is not going anyway anymore.
4. We have nothing to do for 2008
5. Your initiative as choir members
6. Being over-reliant on teachers
7. Taking the freedom we have in choir for granted to the point of slacking
I am sure there are other things which I may have left out. If any of you have anything to add, please tag at the tagboard.
Please take some effort to do this reflection journal seriously. Some of you may think that this is completely useless and is just wasting your time, but if you don't even want to put in the effort to do this simple reflection for the choir, then what is the point of being in the choir. What is even the point of having this choir as a CCA. As Ms Seow said, if the attitude continues to be like this we may just close the choir down and reopen it next time. We are going down that road.
Wake up.
